Position: Quality Specialist

Department: Quality & Safety

Location: Richmond, BC, Canada

Reports to: Manager, Quality & Safety

As a Quality Specialist, you will ensure our high standards are met by both internal operations and global suppliers, providing quality products to our customers. You will support continuous improvement through root cause analysis, monitor NCR data, and oversee supplier quality via audits and inspections. Additionally, you will assist with documentation, compliance tasks, and internal audits and contribute to health, safety, and environmental initiatives. This role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and up to 25% travel for quality-related activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Performance Evaluation & Improvement
    • Facilitate and execute NCR root cause and corrective actions.
    • Monitor NCR data for trends and identify recurring issues.
    • Support our G8D and Major NCR programs.
    • Contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supplier Quality Management:
    • Ensure suppliers meet quality specifications and requirements.
    • Collaborate with supplier quality personnel.
    • Conduct supplier visits, audits and inspections.
    • Work with internal departments to ensure supplier quality standards are maintained.
    • Travel as required, up to 25% a year, for quality and safety-related activities.
  • Documentation and Compliance
    • Support the development and maintenance of quality control processes, procedures and documentation.
    • Assist with the creation and updating of audit templates, procedures, and plans.
    • Document and report auditing findings.
    • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance
  • Health, Safety and Environmental Activities:
    • Participate in safety audits and hazard assessments.
    • Conduct safety orientations.
    • Support environmental initiatives.
    • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the organization.
  • General Duties:
    • Assist with various quality assurance and control tasks as needed.
    • Support cross-functional teams in achieving quality objectives.
    • Prepare and present reports on quality metrics and performance.
    • Respond to quality-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide administrative support for quality projects and programs.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the quality department.

Qualification and Experince:


  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001 standards is desirable.
  • ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor (or equivalent certification) is highly desirable.
  • 1-3 years experience in quality assurance, quality control, or a similar role.
  • Understanding of quality control principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in documentation management, including SOPs, safety procedures, and project quality procedures.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and standards, including WorkSafeBC, ASTM, EN, and ISO standards, and OSHA regulations is desirable.
  • Experience conducting inspections and audits and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of systems and associated principles for mitigation of hazards.
  • Experience with commodity-based certifications or experience in areas such as steel, fiberglass, interactive play, theming, or water ride vehicles is a plus.
