Position Summary:

The Transformation & Sales Optimization department within Bimbo Canada builds strategies to bring our products and services to the market in a way that's tailored to sales channels, customer segments, and product categories, ensuring we can consistently exceed the expectations of each customer while delivering our business objectives.

The Commercial Engineering (CE) Team is part of this department, and is responsible for building and executing processes, programs, and tools in support of secondary distribution and our Direct to Store (DSD) network in Canada. We assess go-to-market requirements and lead activities that drive innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and improve results. The Sr Commercial Engineering Analyst is part of this dynamic team. The role provides leadership and operational support for key projects and initiatives, as well as the day-to-day financial, legal and structural management of our DSD network.

Salary Range: $75,000 to $90,000 #LI-Hybrid #LI-TN1

Position Responsibilities

  • Project Development & Management: Define, lead, and support execution of complex route re-engineering projects & initiatives, including building scenarios, setting objectives, managing activities and schedules, and resource allocation to ensure the completion of projects.

o Develop and maintain detailed project schedules that outline tasks, milestones, goals, and deadlines

o Manage meetings, activities, and communication amongst cross functional teams

o Use UNIGIS route planning tool to geocode customers, create maps, and generate linear optimization models that meet project objectives

o Coordinate and execute movement of customers within our ERP system, execute legal correspondence for changes to independent operator routes, produce invoices, and maintain agreement schedules

o Provide guidance and support for business processes and legal obligations

o Build financial models, calculate project savings, and identify gaps and opportunities; roll up to produce Leadership level reporting dashboards

  • Route Analysis & Administration: Execution of ongoing financial and legal administration processes for independent operator agreements.

o Create route sale forms, route renewal forms, and support other activities that serve as critical inputs to legal disclosure / offer documents for route transactions

o Evaluate requests for customer-route changes to assess viability, impact, and adherence to established processes and guidelines

o Manage updates to contract schedules, business valuations, and ongoing investment associated with new business / changes to business

o Provide operational support for Network Development, Master Data, and other departments for route and customer changes

o Maintain customer and network data attributes; perform updates to our ERP system to ensure it reflects accurate data attributes and route-customer mapping

o Perform calculations and reconciliations for revenue adjustments, incentive programs, fees, subsidies, etc.

o Perform calculations and manage communications to our independent operators for business settlement, including following up on unpaid invoices, managing payments, and creating loan schedules for financing requests

o Support additional related projects as required, including new legal agreement rollouts, changes and amendments, and SOP updates

o Provide guidance and support to stakeholders for our business processes and legal obligations

  • Data and Reporting: Generate and leverage reports (utilizing BI tools & Excel) as required to support projects and initiatives.

o Demonstrate intimate understanding of DSD related data & requirements

o Support preparation of business case documents and presentations

o Provide ad-hoc reports and analysis to team as required

o Financial tracking and oversight for operational and project activities

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Business degree an asset
  • 3 - 5 years' relevant work experience in sales operations, ideally in DSD
  • Strong background in project management, working on/with cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of process management, contracts, financial analysis, and experience with large datasets will all be helpful in this role

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and committed to precision
  • Seasoned project manager; sets clear goals, builds commitment and collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders while maintaining a creative and positive work environment
  • High sense of urgency; experience handling multiple and changing deadlines, working in a fast-paced environment with high volume of meetings & email
  • Naturally process focused, able to follow complex SOPs; requires minimal supervision to consistently produce timely and accurate results
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written); actively listens to the needs of others
  • Critical thinker, open to new ideas; able to learn quickly, solve problems, and adapt with agility
  • Confident use of Excel, commercial intelligence systems, and other standard business applications
