Fortinet has an exciting opportunity for an experienced SRE Specialist to join our FortiGuard operation team. We are managing the consumer-facing services with high traffic volumes around the world. Service Reliability and Security is our top priority. This is a unique opportunity to join an established team of experienced professionals to work on some of the most innovative technology and network security products on the market.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, deployment, and management of network equipment (Switch/Router/Firewall).
  • Linux Server Administration (Ubuntu/Red Hat/CentOS).
  • Develop, maintain and execute tools and scripts to provide automation and self-service solutions.
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of security appliances, servers, storage, Kubernetes and network issues.
  • Server, VM, application and network key performance metrics monitoring.
  • Design, develop and administration of infrastructure as code(IaC) tools/systems to automate deployments, operating systems, and applications.
  • Deployment of global OpenStack and Kubernetes cluster, including measures for securing and protecting applications and data in the cluster.
  • Identify, document and track software defects found during testing.
  • Provide on-call support for critical services to ensure high availability.

Job Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of practical experience in designing and deploying network and server infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of experience configuring physical servers & network appliances (e.g., Dell, HP, Fortinet FortiGate/FortiSwitch, etc.).
  • Knowledge of networking protocols/technologies (Switching, Firewalls, VPN, SNMP, DNS, VLANs, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of security practices and implementation.
  • Practical experience with automation tools (Ansible/Terraform) in physical and virtual environments.
  • Knowledge of monitoring network/server systems: Zabbix, Cacti, etc.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard protocols (TCP/IP, Apache, DNS, LDAP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of at least one scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl etc.).
  • Highly organized, able to multi-task, the ability to work individually, within a team and with other groups.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written across all user levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Bonus experience:

  • Practical experience in administration of Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) as a server platform.
  • Practical experience of administration in virtualized environments.
  • Knowledge of observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.
  • Knowledge of OpenStack and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD platforms and DevOps tools.
  • Knowledge of Software Defined Storage and Networks.

Educational Requirement:

  • A degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or related field.
  • Certification for CCIE, RHCE, Fortinet FCP in Network Security or FCA would be the bonus.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $85,400 - $115,500 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
