Fortinet is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the R&D team to help drive initiatives for FIO - Fortinet Integrated OpenStack platform.

The successful candidate will have strong technical background in OpenStack and public cloud services, and associated products and a deep understanding of Engineering development cycles, and ability to engage with technical customers & field sales.

As a member of the PM team, the successful candidate will actively engage with Systems Engineering leaders to validate customer requests and prioritize effectively to drive business growth. Additionally, the PM will be an active member of the R&D team, defining functional specifications, breaking down feature requests, managing timelines & deliverables, bringing new features/products to market.

Experience in Complianceor Customer and field facing technical roles such as System Engineering or similar is strong plus.

Responsibilities:

  • To distil customer business problems from internal and external stakeholder needs analysis and feedback.
  • To work closely with field teams to define and prioritize development activities to ensure product requirements are captured and execution matches expectations.
  • To generate Product Roadmap and communicate as necessary, including both internal and external product evangelism. Work collaboratively with Sales and Engineering to prioritize development.
  • To create regular reports to capture priorities from technical, commercial and support arenas to ensure effective allocation of resources and provide the necessary focus on current challenges.
  • To provide support to field teams in customer engagements including, but not limited to technology overview, product details, product demos and technical expertise in order to drive product revenue.
  • To work with PM team to deploy FIO platforms in our global DCs.
  • To work with internal infosec team to ensure the product meet compliance requirements such as SOC2, ISO27K, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and others.
  • To monitor the competitive landscape and recommend solutions to extend product functionality.
  • To write internal and public facing technical documentation.

Skills and Experience:

Required:

3+ years experience working in product management, with a OpenStack vendor in a product management of technical role.

Or

Several years of Project Management experience or relevant experience managing technical efforts.in a Software-as-a-Service or Infrastructure-as-a-Service environment

Or

Several years experience in a Systems Engineering or TAC role with subject matter expertise for OpenStack or related cloud technology.

  • Attention to detail and ability to coordinate with multiple teams across the organization
  • Strong technical and market familiarity with OpenStack technologies, the competitive landscape and the market direction.
  • Understanding of a broad range of OpenStack technologies and their customer use cases.
  • Hands on experience of deployment and integration of OpenStack or adjacent technologies into the customer environment.
  • Understanding of customer use cases.
  • Experience with detailed competitive analysis, product pricing and estimation.
  • The individual should be able to demonstrate an understanding the general product planning discipline, with previous cross collaboration teamwork experience in working with development engineering, field sales and directly with customers.
  • Candidates should have solid organizational skills and be excited about working hard in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
  • The expectation is that this role will require someone with a deep technical understanding of the Private Cloud market to steer development in the required direction to help drive rapid product revenue growth.
  • Plus: Technical knowledge and understanding of general networking concepts and solutions across network domains such as routing, switching, firewalls, ACLs, and SD-WAN.
  • Plus: Technical knowledge and understanding of security controls and solutions across security domains such as enterprise security, access management, including authentication and authorization, user/identity management, protocols and concepts (e.g., Single Sign-On), encryptions, vulnerability management, and network security.
  • Plus: Technical knowledge and understanding of Corporate Enterprise technologies and solutions.
  • Must be a team player and have exceptional communication skills.

Education:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience. Graduate degree preferred.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $150,000 - $180,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
