Focusing on key segments of the technology sector, the Architect applies deep knowledge of business and technology-sector dynamics and outstanding analytical skills to distill insight from data and diverse, unstructured information. Representative areas of focus include public & private cloud, automation and the industry changes to IT delivery. The Architect works with colleagues in multiple sectors and guides and mentors staff. This is a key position in a team of highly skilled, tech-trend savvy individuals who reveal emerging trends, and develop service offerings based on these trends for our clients which directly affects the work of other experts. The position is part of the BCCSS Emerging Technologies Group, whose charter is helping to drive innovation in all of Health Care. Sensing, understanding, and acting on emerging trends is a key path to innovation. What you'll do Devises compelling hypotheses and conceives, designs, and executes research projects to test those hypotheses. Identifies and explains trends that are not widely understood but are likely (in the next 12-24 months) to have significant impact on BCCSS and technology within Health Care. While collaborating with colleagues, this role involves hands-on responsibility for every phase of the work, including hypothesis generation, research, analysis and presentation. Provides practical innovation, including transformation of research into innovative service offerings for our clients. Reads and reflects intensively on a wide range of business and technology news sources, collect "signals" of emerging trends, and "connects the dots" to suggest potentially important trends that merit further study. Writes high-quality research reports/articles targeted at an executive audience based on insights and findings from research and analysis. Drives the adoption of emerging technologies and business opportunities across BCCSS and Health Care. Promotes technical innovation and service opportunities to business partners and clients. Facilitates to drive cross-functional / virtual teams to consensus based on strong communication and influencing skills. Delivers small to medium scale projects and services into production using an iterative/pilot based approach. Provides leadership to cross-functional and virtual teams. Maintains a watch-list of emerging technologies and business opportunities. Drives feasibility studies based on maturity of technology, strategic alignment and delivery capabilities. Prepares funding requests and manage expectations of the sponsors and stakeholders. What you bring Qualifications A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related. A minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years' of recent related experience in a large, complex organization including experience with at least three IT disciplines from a client/server environment, including but not limited to: Project Management, Technical Architecture, Systems Analysis, Network Management, Application Development, Middleware, Database Management, and Operations.
