Interior Health are looking for an experienced Intelligent Automation Specialist to join our team on a full time permanent basis. This position has a flexible work location from within the Interior Health Region.

Salary:
Salary range for the position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

About the job:
The Specialist, Intelligent Automation provides oversight and direction for the development and implementation of automation solutions that leverage Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies within the organization. The Specialist serves as a subject matter expert providing guidance and expert advice on the best practices, standards, and procedures for designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions. The Specialist ensures the successful, sustainable, and strategic implementation of RPA into Interior Health’s business processes bringing technical expertise, leadership, and focus on excellence in automation implementations.

Typical duties and responsibilities:
• Designs, develops, and implements automation solutions using RPA tools and AI technologies which meet business requirements and deliver value to the organization.
• Serves as a subject matter expert providing oversight on the development and deployment of automation solutions while ensuring adherence to standards and processes.
• Functions as a senior resource providing leadership, training, and expert advice to team members and end-users on automation tools, methodologies, and best practices.
• Participates in recruitments efforts, supports the manager with monitoring team performance, provides feedback to manager for employee evaluations and gives recommendations for training and orientation.
• Ensures automation solutions are high quality, including performance, reliability, and scalability through testing and ensuring automations meets business requirements and technical specifications.
• Administers the automation tools and technologies including managing the technical aspects of the RPA platform to maintain the health and efficiency of automated processes.
• Facilitates work breakdown activities with team members and other parties to create a structured plan of manageable tasks required to develop automation solutions.
• Creates and maintains an atmosphere of open communication and trust through the facilitation of code reviews, retrospectives, and feedback exchange among team members.
• Develops networks and fosters collaborative relationships with business and technical teams to streamline communication and ensure seamless implementation of automation solutions.
• Monitors and reports on the performance and service delivery of automation infrastructure, licensing, and other related dependencies.
• Collaborates with business areas and technical teams to identify and assess processes suitable for automation and prioritizes them based on potential benefits.
• Evaluates and provides recommendations on which automation tools and technologies are appropriate based on project requirements.
• Creates and maintains documentation to support various aspects of automation, including processes, guidelines, best practices, and governance.
• Ensures automation solutions are compliant with privacy, security, and other relevant regulatory and compliance standards.
• In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education, Training, and Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
• A minimum of 5 years of recent and relevant experience in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining RPA processes in a complex business environment (preferably health care) including responsibilities for project management, system development, employee development, and leadership.
• Experience in Agile development practices.
• Or an equivalent combination of post secondary education, training, and experience.
