The focus of the Information Technology Analyst is to provide technical and/or application support. You will be in an entry-level position within the Digital Services team and will work closely with other team members to define, develop and/or support applications or systems by working on enhancement and improvements.

As an IT Analyst, you will play a role in ensuring applications and services are maintained and available for both internal and external clients. You will work closely with your manager to develop a learning plan and a career path within AFSC that will help you achieve a more advanced role within Digital Services.

What will your growth opportunities look like in this role?

  • Learn and become knowledgeable in systems and business processes centered around our Insurance Programs and be able to apply this knowledge to support business changing needs.
  • Continuous learning through internal and external approved learning programs. Including Salesforce administrator certification, Microsoft products including proficiency in Excel development and other technical learnings as required.
  • Learn and become knowledgeable in Digital Services internal tools and process, building skills through collaboration and community of practices.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Under the guidance of a Senior resource, learning to become self-sufficient in system administration. Includes batch, data loads, SFTP, providing reports/logs, printing, monitoring, upgrades etc.
  • Expanding administration skills and development for support with our insurance products "as is" custom technology and "to be" future configurable cloud technology
  • Working and building relationships with our business partners through collaboration of output mailings. I.e.: mail room, finance
  • Ensure a positive experience for internal clients by having courteous interactions with them.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving of issues or concerns through incident and change enablement
  • Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work and assist in identifying improvements.
  • Over time, will play a role in ensuring that AFSC core applications not only meet the needs of today but are aligned and maintained for the future.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that focus on configuration / automation to free up time and perform more efficiently.
  • Contribute and analyze specific problems and issues to find the best solutions. Solutions could be technical or procedural in nature.
  • Participate and execute deployment tasks with quality assurance processes related to the Insurance Program.
  • Contribute to the adoption of a digital culture by embracing and applying digital capabilities and agile methodology.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in formal and informal training; gain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.
  • Work with System Administrators, Developers, Business Analysts and Business groups and stakeholders to align product vision, requirements, etc. with solution.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years' experience in Information Technology preferable
  • Experience working with Information Technology Service Management Tools
  • Certification is considered an asset but not a requirement (i.e., Salesforce Administration, M365 etc.)
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Technology
