We're looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our High Prairie Oriented Strand Board (OSB) Division located in High Prairie, Alberta. Our mill has undergone an exciting major rebuild and modernization project including the commissioning of a new continuous press which makes us the most modern mill in North America, allowing us to produce forest products safely and sustainably for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized accounting program or equivalent work-related experience.
- Prior knowledge and experience in payroll, accounts payable and administrative assistance would be considered an asset.
- Possess strong organizational, time management and communication skills.
- Experience providing accounting support within a manufacturing environment, with wood products manufacturing, preferred.
- Exceptional customer service skills for both internal and external clients.
- Excellent Excel skills and ideally experience with Power BI.
- Experience with JD Edwards would be an asset.

In this role you will:
- Assist in the reporting of financial and statistical information.
- Provide coverage for other team members.
- Maintain financial workbooks and provide ongoing feedback to various departments within the mill.
- Assist in weekly, monthly and annual financial reporting including variance reports.
- Prepare account analysis and update financial statements, account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Partner with departments across the mill to deliver excellent customer service.
