As a Business Analyst, you will immerse yourself in a collaborative setting where your expertise helps to actively shape NAIT's technology landscape and facilitate the success of our students, staff, and industry partners.

We are looking for a passionate Business Analyst who is excited to make an impact, streamline processes, and fuel our growth. In this role, you will liaise with diverse business units and ITS, skillfully translating business objectives and key results into comprehensive conceptual designs, all while championing top-tier business analysis practices.

This position reports to the Manager, Business Portfolio Office.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with academic and administrative departments to understand, gather, and document their system and process requirements and map these to objectives and key results.
  2. System Analysis: Assess NAIT's technology landscape to identify areas of improvement, enhancement, or integration.
  3. Product Ownership: Prioritize product features to ensure alignment with business goals and maximize the product's value.
  4. Organizational Change Management: Assess change impacts, facilitate smooth transitions with training, and ensure changes align with organizational goals.
  5. Reporting and Analytics: Utilize data analysis tools to generate reports and insights to assist with decision-making processes and understanding trends.
  6. Coaching: Share knowledge with, and coach or mentor, less experienced business analysts.


Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand complex problems, extract essential details, and develop practical solutions.
  • Proficient with Product Owner practices.
  • Proficient in the use of analysis and visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of enterprise platforms including CRM, service management, or student information systems.
  • Knowledge of technology system interfaces, data integration, networks, and operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum frameworks.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with business and technical teams on multiple concurrent activities.


Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Business, IT, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience as a business analyst.
  • Experience with student information systems and the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in a post-secondary educational institution is an asset.
  • Business Analyst certification is an asset.


Remuneration: $82,189.64 to $108,886.96 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
