About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Team Lead, Commercial Data Analytics, the Trade Deal Advisor's primary function is accountable for interpreting and entering crude oil transaction into the Crude Oil marketing trade capture system. This is a critical front office role supporting accurate transaction capture to support front office business. In addition, the Trade Deal Advisor will also work on supporting the implementation of various special projects which impact the team's day to day roles and responsibilities. The chosen candidate will be part of a dynamic team environment, collaborating on the development of effective solutions for Cenovus's operations.

What you'll do:

  • Interpreting and entering crude oil transactions into Egistix which includes pricing, multiple schedules, and additional special terms

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, consistency, and context so reporting is a reliable source for decision making

  • Revising and updating terms within Egistix

  • Support projects for future trade capture systems

  • Assist with projects and other initiatives, including system related projects and ad hoc tasks, as required

  • Support business improvements collaborating with Front, Middle and Back office while applying segregation of duties

  • Using day to day knowledge, recognizing trends, and identifying new business needs: work with Front Office and its Support Functions for development and continuous improvement of current process and Cenovus practices

  • Maintain an evolving knowledge of changing industry practices pertinent to marketing agreement types

  • Enable the Commercial Front-Office through leveraging appropriate technology, data analytics and standardization to deliver recording, reporting and analysis

  • Provide an awareness of new technologies and solutions to improve data access and reporting

  • Assist in finding opportunities; gain endorsement; support execution of project plans.

  • Participate in technology changes and upgrades

  • Assess and test impacts to changes in technologies and upgrades

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Relevant post-secondary education

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in data capture, data entry, or data management with a strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Knowledge of and experience in crude oil, NGL and natural gas marketing business asset

  • Knowledge of and experience in crude oil various modes of transport such as pipe, tank, rail and waterborne would be considered an asset

  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Allegro, OMS and Egistix (ETRM) is desirable

  • Experience with data analytics and visualization platforms (Power BI, Spotfire, R Studio)

  • Exposure with reviewing and understanding commodity confirmations

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the capability to convey complex information clearly and effectively

  • Resilient in a dynamic work environment, skilled in supporting and communicating organizational change

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate
