What you'll do
Working within our store technology team, the Staff Engineer will utilize their strong background in Java Spring Boot, Angular, container technologies, and Azure Cloud to design, develop, and maintain our in-store software solutions that enhance both the customer and employee experience.
Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of high-performance, scalable store technology applications using Java Spring Boot and Angular
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to define architecture, identify technical challenges, and provide innovative solutions
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
Utilize container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes to manage and deploy applications efficiently
Implement best practices for cloud-native development using Microsoft Azure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency
Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to industry best practices
Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in engineering practices, tools, and processes
Troubleshoot production issues as needed and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
What you bring
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
8+ years of professional experience in software development with a focus on Java Spring Boot and Angular frameworks
Strong expertise in container technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
Proven experience with Azure Cloud services including but not limited to Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure DevOps, and other related tools
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or collaboratively in an agile environment
Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design principles
Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Experience working within the retail industry or on store technology projects is desired
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments is preferred
Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in tech communities is desired
