About this opportunity:
Cenovus is currently looking for a Senior Regulatory Technician, based in Calgary.
The job's main purpose is to create accurate and compliant public notification documents and facility and pipeline license applications, in addition to reviewing and compiling audit documentation in order to meet or exceed all regulatory requirements. The job is best suited for someone who is analytical, detail oriented, and enjoys working in a fast paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines.
What you'll do:
The role of the Senior Regulatory Technician is to facilitate, administer, and regulate the licensing of facilities and pipelines for Cenovus construction, operations, maintenance, and abandonment projects. Senior Regulatory Technicians are responsible for creating accurate and compliant public notification documents and facility and pipeline license applications, in addition to reviewing and compiling audit documentation in order to meet or exceed all regulatory requirements while ensuring these deliverables satisfy project deadlines. As a Senior Regulatory Technician, you will liaise with various Cenovus departments and government bodies within Western Canada and support multiple projects, assets and business areas
Preparing accurate and compliant facility and pipeline applications for new construction, license amendment applications for existing facility and pipeline licenses, and public notification letters
Interpreting PFD's and Plot Plans for submission compliance, in addition to other technical documents such as emission calculations, air dispersion modeling, noise impact assessments etc.
Liaising with Cenovus's Engineering, Surface Land, Construction, Production, Operations, Technical Services, Environment, and Emergency Response Departments
Collaborating closely with Government Regulatory agencies
Promoting compliance assurance and regulatory advocacy
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
10+ years' experience in the oil & gas industry (associated degree, diploma or certificate is an asset)
10+ years' experience with facility and pipeline licensing and associated regulatory requirements in Alberta and Saskatchewan (British Columbia, Manitoba, and Canada Energy Regulator experience is an asset)
Strong solid understanding of the AER's DDS and OneStop systems and the MER's IRIS system (system equivalents in other jurisdictions are an asset - Kermit, AMS, etc.)
Experience with Accumap, Abadata, Petrinex, SharePoint, Spotfire, and Power BI is an asset
