Please Note: This is a hybrid work position in Calgary Alberta and requires in-person collaboration at the WestJet Campus (22 Aerial Place NE) 3 days per week. This provides flexibility the remaining 40% of the work week. This hybrid work plan allows for critically important learning, collaboration and networking with our colleagues. Specific days in the office are agreed upon by the team.

We are seeking a Senior Product Owner to lead the evolution of our Marketing Automation Platform (Adobe Campaign), ensuring its stability, scalability, and alignment with industry best practices. This role heavily focuses on back-end integrations, data workflows, platform reliability, and feature enhancements while supporting a growing front-end roadmap. You will be the primary owner of the platform, advocating for email deliverability, security, and best-in-class marketing technology solutions to maximize engagement and ensure our communications reach inboxes with trust and credibility.


The ideal candidate will have extensive experience delivering product roadmaps, supporting data and workflow optimizations, driving platform optimizations, a strong understanding of best practices in email deliverability and email UX & technology, and expert product management skills. They will also champion digital channel performance and delivery and are passionate about product development. They will have experience coordinating between and managing multiple stakeholder groups and priorities and have proven examples of taking accountability for marketing technology infrastructure. This individual should exhibit a high standard of excellence, enjoy challenges, be results-driven, and demonstrate the ability to work in an agile environment.

Key deliverables include:

  • Oversee the end-to-end health, performance, and stability of the Marketing Automation Platform (e.g., Adobe Campaign).
  • Ensure compliance with email security protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, BIMI) and evolving best practices.
  • Advocate for platform scalability, technical debt reduction, and system efficiency to maintain long-term performance.
  • Identify and drive automation, AI-driven optimizations, and emerging Martech innovations to enhance email performance.
  • Lead the back-end integrations between the Marketing Automation Platform and key systems (Data Warehouses, API-driven data sources).
  • Partner with Data Engineering & IT teams to ensure clean, efficient, and real-time data flows that support personalization and segmentation.
  • Define and refine data ingestion processes to reduce errors, increase automation, and optimize campaign execution workflows.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Digital, Data Engineering, IT, and Compliance teams to align platform capabilities with business needs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with platform vendors, ensuring SLAs, support, and escalations are managed effectively.
  • Partner with compliance teams to ensure adherence to GDPR, CAN-SPAM, CASL, and other email regulations.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Completed Diploma or Bachelor's Degree (Technical/ Business/ Science)
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience working in digital or emerging technology
  • 3+ years of experience working with a digital marketing platform
  • Experience managing web and mobile designs with a large consumer footprint
  • Experience working in email marketing and have a focus on deliverability
  • Experience defining scope and managing key deliverables for large projects
  • Experience with software development and an appreciation for project management
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent detailed written, verbal, presentation skills
  • Proven experience in backlog grooming, user story development and prioritization
  • A working history that shows a commitment to transparency, trust, and collaboration across all levels of seniority
  • A love for education and learning about best-in-class practices, customer experiences, and industry
  • Willingness to mentor and lead small development pods
  • Advanced knowledge in the following practices (preferred):
    • User Experience within responsive design
    • SCRUM/Agile Development
    • Web Analytics and KPIs
