Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Developer to join our Identity and Access Management (IAM) team. This opportunity would be a perfect fit if you have extensive experience with Customer Identity and Access Management platforms, enjoy problem solving, collaboration, and attention to detail, and have a can-do attitude. You will stand out if you have strong experience in the following: ForgeRock/Ping Identity Platform or other IAM solutions, Azure DevOps, DevOps - Ansible, Docker, Linux, LDAP Directory Server, Java, SAML, Splunk, Groovy, RESTful webservices, JVM and performance tuning, and knowledge of load balancing.

This role is a hybrid developer and operations role, with an expectation of participation on the team's on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Senior developer for WestJet's Customer Identity and Access Management team
• Systems administration of profile service infrastructure, diagnosing and resolving technical issues affecting service functionality and performance, including after hours on-call support on a rotating schedule.
• Facilitate security vulnerability remediation, operating system and application patching, security compliance and audit requirements remediation.
• Configure infrastructure and develop new tools and processes to continuously improve the operational excellence of the profile infrastructure (incl. monitoring, alerting, dashboards and metrics-based reports).
• Participate in CIAM projects, implementing changes from development through production.
• Be an active team member and promote best practices, methodologies, standards, and behaviors. Act as an ambassador for WestJet's Identity and Access Management services, its capabilities and adopted technologies.
• Produce high quality documentation that describes the logical architecture, configuration, and administrator guides. Create and maintain environment documentation including topology diagrams, run books, configuration standards and processes and procedures.
• Leads reviews of own work and reviews of colleagues' work.

Technical Skills

• Experience with CIAM platforms is a must, ForgeRock/Ping experience an asset.
• Demonstrated knowledge of systems integration (including SOAP and REST APIs); network fundamentals; operating systems (including Linux); Cloud services; and systems architecture for Web applications (including virtualization and containerization).
• Demonstrated knowledge of DevOps practices, including configuration management and deployment automation.
• Java development skills are a must, Azure API development an asset.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role, supporting mission critical infrastructure in large scale environments.
• College diploma or university degree in the field of Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems (or 8+ years of equivalent IT operations experience).
• Expert problem-solving skills and advanced interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in collaborating with others when necessary to review specifications and can use these agreed specifications to design, code, test and document programs or scripts of medium to high complexity, using the right standards and tools.
• Proficient in working on complex integration as part of a wider team.
• Expertise in reviewing the systems designs of others to ensure the selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources and integration of multiple systems and technology.
