ATCO Frontec is seeking a Calgary based Senior Data/Data Analyst, friendly professional who works well in a collaborative environment, loves programming and data science, enjoys problem-solving and can work independently and in a team. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead or contribute to the assessment, design, development and implementation of new technological applications for Frontec
  • Lead or contribute to data mapping, gathering, processing, and analysis
  • Lead or contribute to the digitization of new and existing business processes, including software selection, algorithm design, implementation, testing, and quality assurance
  • Explore, assess, recommend and implement improvements or enhancements to existing processes through innovative technology
  • Be a technical resource to projects, peers, and other functional departments throughout Frontec
  • Provide end-user training to stakeholders as needed
  • Update and maintain standardized resource documents and training materials
  • Administer permissions and ensure data and identity access management principles are adhered to for a given application
  • Presents digitized process to stakeholders in the company and gathers feedback for improvement
  • Positively liaise with and help facilitate corporate IT direction as required while balancing the technology needs of Frontec

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Strong, proven experience in the technology field is required and/or a degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics is an asset
  • Experience ingesting, processing, analyzing, and visualizing data is required. Specific experience using Snowflake and Tableau is an asset
  • Experience developing solutions using a modern programming language (Python, JavaScript, R, etc.) is required
  • Working knowledge of databases and the SQL language is required
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; must possess excellent listening, written, and verbal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to balance competing stakeholder needs and manage expectations around service and deliverables
  • Ability to align developments with enhancing existing business operations and workflows, while balancing expectations around fixing processes
  • Experience ingesting data from 3rd party systems using REST/SOAP APIs is an asset
  • Understanding of development project management best practices including version control, UAT, changelogs, etc. is an asset
  • Knowledge or understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices is an asset
  • Knowledge or desire to explore process automation, IIoT, GIS, AI
