The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is responsible for the safe, reliable, and economic planning and operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System. We provide open and non-discriminatory access to Alberta's interconnected power grid and also facilitate Alberta's competitive wholesale electricity market. Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Cloud Services & Business Analysis, you will work in partnership with internal teams to ensure maximum value out of Corporate Cloud Applications, concentrating on our ERP system (Workday). You will also be responsible for understanding the business requirements, and configuring, designing, and delivering best-fit solutions.

Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Finance team at AESO (recent implementation of Workday financials)

  • Gathering business requirements for financial processes, financial reports, analytics, and dashboards

  • Designing solutions, configuring, testing and supporting

  • Leading initiatives and mentoring other SMEs

  • Assisting with upgrades & bi-annual releases including analysis of impacts of new financial functionality, configuration, testing and implementation

  • Acting as a mentor to fellow Cloud Application support team members.

What you'll bring to us:

  • Experience in the electricity / utilities industry is highly desirable.8+ years' experience with ERP solutions.

  • Strong preference for candidates with 5+ years functional experience with Workday finance modules.

  • Certification in Workday Financials, Financial Reporting and Workday Adaptive Planning, PRISM Analytics experience is an asset.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.

  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements in the electrical utility sector.

  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies to ensure stakeholder buy-in.
