What you'll do

The Manager, eCommerce, will be responsible for driving the execution and operations of Sport Chek, Atmosphere & Mark's eCommerce promotions online. Reporting to the AVP, eCommerce, the Manager, eCommerce is responsible for developing the plans and initiatives that ladder up to the overall e-merchandising strategy and is responsible for overseeing management of eCommerce web properties. This leader must be a great communicator and influencer, to collaborate across multiple internal teams, while building an inspiring narrative for both our new and existing customers. This person is someone who is equally comfortable operating at a strategic level (using customer insights to generate innovative ideas for growth) and at the tactical level (analyzing data, solving problems, executing process improvement with cross-functional stakeholders).

  • Lead and develop a high-performing eCommerce team to drive online sales and KPIs. Support their career development through 1:1 training, mentoring, and personal development plans

  • Drive the development and execution of promotional strategies and operations to achieve objectives with an acute awareness of business context, core customer segments, and competitive landscapes

  • Accountable for managing eCommerce promotions, including planning, execution, and analysis

  • Utilize data-driven insights to coach cross-functional teams on online best practices and partner with them to identify areas of opportunity for optimizing promotions and online assortment

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in Promo, Marketing, Purchasing, IT, Operations, and Digital Product to ensure end-to-end implementation of promotional activities while maintaining a customer-first mindset. Provide regular presentations to senior leadership and key stakeholders on performance and execution recommendations

  • Work closely with cross-departmental teams such as Promo, Purchasing, Legal, IT, and Allocations to manage pricing, promotions, and allocations for online promotions on a weekly basis

  • Leverage customer insights, analytics, research, and reporting functions to support decision-making, analyze results, and identify new opportunities for growth

  • Participate in eCommerce-related special projects and new initiatives as required

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, economics, business or relevant field of study

  • 3-5 years of experience in leadership management roles with at least 2 years of experience working in a merchandiser or promotions role

  • 3+ years' experience leading and maintaining a cooperative and collaborative team environment while promoting high-performance standards

  • Experience working with content management systems and eCommerce backend systems

  • Proficiency in using Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics or other reporting platforms with the ability to analyze large amounts of data and derive actionable insights to influence business decisions

  • Understanding of SEO/SEM principles

  • Superior written and presentation skills

  • A proven track record of creating inspirational online merchandising for customers

  • Creative and courageous mindset; the ability to manage and navigate change and ambiguity in a rapidly evolving retail environment

  • Action-oriented with a willingness to take calculated risks to better serve customers and drive business results

  • Outcome-focused critical thinking, using strong analytical skills to ensure continuous improvement across the entire business

  • Collaborative team player mindset with superior influencing skills, building relationships easily across various stakeholder groups to drive initiatives forward
