We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager (PM) to lead the successful delivery of critical IT infrastructure projects. In this role, you will report to the Manager of Grid Reliability and Infrastructure Delivery and Project Management. You will be responsible for managing project scope, schedules, financials, and risks, ensuring high-quality delivery. You will lead cross-functional teams, allocate resources, and maintain effective communication with stakeholders to keep projects on track and aligned with business goals.

As the PM, you will also provide project governance, ensuring adherence to AESO Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC) and IT Solution Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) practices. This is a dynamic role that offers the opportunity to manage a variety of projects, including those related to applications, services, and integrations. Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring project plans define scope within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards.

  • Supporting the IT Capital Baseload Program Manager (PgM) and the organization with timely and skilled communications and professional creation of business artifacts.

  • Planning and overseeing the project from end-to-end, with appropriate delivery approaches and managing project dependencies and risks, to ensure project deliverables are on time, on target, and within the budget.

  • Setting priorities for resources, identify resource constraints, coordinate interactions with stakeholders.

  • Facilitating seamless project delivery - liaise with managers and process owners to ensure alignment and improve process and communications within fit for purpose delivery.

  • Monitoring and reporting project progress in support of the AESO governance model and reporting tools.

  • Ensuring risks are managed and communicated regularly to all relevant project stakeholders.

  • Identifying issues and lead mitigation actions as necessary, leading escalations and change control.

  • Coaching and mentor the project team toward project success, engaging with the functional managers to contribute to the performance management of resources.

  • Collaborating in a matrix management structure, with other Project Managers, Program Managers and Functional Managers to support continuous process maturity.

What you'll bring to us:

  • Degree in Business, IT or other related field or equivalent work / industry experience.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or working towards one is preferred.

  • Minimum of 7+ consecutive years of IT Project Manager experience required.

  • Recent hands-on IT Project Management experience within structured project and solution delivery methodologies is essential.

  • Proven ability to deliver complex projects successfully through a full life cycle (Initiation, Planning, Executing, Control, and Completion), including experience with procurement and operational integration.

  • Strong project and people management skills in a matrix management environment.

  • Utilities industry background is an asset.

  • Comprehension of IT Infrastructure terminology and current infrastructure integrations.
