About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Incident Management and Data Analytics, the Incident Management and Data Analytics Advisor will assist in enhancing our Health & Safety incident management systems. This junior role involves supporting the implementation of Cenovus's incident management processes in line with Cenovus's Operational Integrity Management System (COIMS). The successful candidate will collaborate within the team and other business units to support incident management activities, help build investigation capacity to learn from incidents, and prevent future occurrences.
What you'll do:
Support the enhancement and implementation of our incident management processes and systems
Assist in incident investigations by gathering data, documenting findings, and learning investigation techniques
Help collect, review and disseminate lessons learned from internal and external sources, ensuring they are effectively communicated
Support the delivery of yearly strategic goals by assisting with specific tasks and projects outlined in the business plan
Participate in assurance activities to evaluate the effectiveness of incident management processes, identifying areas for improvement
Collaborate with other Health & Safety team members to enhance incident management systems, contributing ideas and supporting initiatives
Assist in analyzing, and interpreting data related to incident management and safety performance. Provide insights and reports to help improve decision-making processes and identify trends
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, Diploma, or Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution - Health & Safety Certifications i.e. CRST, CRSP, CSP are an asset
Minimum 5 years experience in a Health & Safety is required
Excellent communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills is required
Motivated self-self starter with an eagerness to learn and take initiative
Demonstrates a positive attitude and ability to work effectively with diverse teams
Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred
We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 drivers license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
