This role could be based in Calgary or Edmonton.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Specialist will lead and execute digital strategies to drive engagement, traffic, and results for Boardwalk. This role requires a dynamic, results-driven marketer with proven expertise in digital media, including paid advertising, SEO, content optimization, and website management.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on executor who thrives on blending technical knowledge with creativity. You will play a key role in shaping digital initiatives, analyzing trends, and optimizing campaigns to deliver impactful results. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll contribute to exciting projects that elevate Boardwalk's digital presence and support business growth. The responsibilities of this role expand and adapt as the role progresses to meet the evolving needs of the team and the company.

Responsibilities:


Lead and manage Digital Advertising Campaigns

  • Develop, plan, and execute corporate and regional paid ad strategies across platforms including Google, Meta, and TikTok.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize campaigns, including budgets, targeting, ad content, and performance metrics to meet KPIs and regional demands.
  • Perform keyword research, expansion, and optimization to ensure competitive and effective ad placements.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging tools, and competitor strategies to drive innovation and maximize ROI.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

  • Perform SEO audits and implement recommendations to improve website visibility and search rankings.
  • Collaborate with marketing and development teams to integrate SEO best practices into content, architecture, and code.
  • Recommend enhancements to website structure, linking strategies, and content to optimize performance for target keywords.
  • Analyze and report on SEO progress, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.

Performance Analysis & Reporting

  • Track, analyze, and report on campaign performance, web analytics, and PPC initiatives.
  • Build and maintain dashboards to provide visibility on KPIs, ROI, and actionable insights using tools such as Google Data Studio, Power BI, Microsoft Clarity and Excel.
  • Research and analyze competitor advertising strategies to identify new opportunities and improve digital marketing outcomes.

Website & Content Management

  • Optimize and manage photo assets, copy, and content for digital campaigns and SEO.
  • Leverage Hubspot CMS platform to support ongoing SEO and campaign strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and stakeholders, to ensure website updates align with business objectives and user needs.
  • Support website delivery, ensuring quality, usability, and alignment with strategic goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing teams to align campaigns, messaging, and goals across all digital platforms.
  • Support broader marketing initiatives and provide guidance on digital advertising best practices.
  • Assist in mentoring junior team members and managing project deadlines, campaigns, and deliverables effectively.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing with proven expertise in paid media, SEO, and performance marketing.
  • Experience managing multiple ad platforms, including Google AdWords, Meta Business Suite, and TikTok.
  • HubSpot experience; certification is an asset.

Technical Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing and optimizing PPC campaigns for measurable ROI.
  • Strong SEO knowledge, including keyword optimization, link strategies, and technical SEO audits.
  • Proficiency with Google Marketing Suite (AdWords, GA4, Tag Manager) and CMS platforms (Hubspot).
  • Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion tracking, and online customer acquisition strategies.
  • Ability to analyze and report on campaign data, performance metrics, and ROI.
  • Experience with reporting tools like Google Data Studio, Power BI, Microsoft Clarity and Excel.
  • Familiarity with emerging advertising tools, trends, and certifications (Google Ads, Meta, etc.) is an asset.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive actionable insights and improvements.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness.
  • Positive, professional, and enthusiastic attitude with a commitment to achieving results.
