At SMS Equipment, the Senior Business Analyst works with the business owners to implement required business processes that can be supported by a range of systems and technologies, with the objective to optimize the end-to-end process. Systems include, but are not limited to the e-Emphasys ERP, Power BI, SSRS, Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, Komatsu systems and others. In this role, the Business Analyst will also provide guidance, support and expertise to the business groups and Service Desk support specialists.
This role is based out of Acheson, AB and offers a hybrid work arrangement.
The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $101,000 per year.
Responsibilities:
Lead and participate in workshops with users, General Managers, Directors, Business Process and Applications teams, IT Security Architects, and project teams, to identify, analyze, and document business policies and process improvement opportunities including but not limited to, policies, process flows, standard operating procedures (SOP), segregation of duties and JSOX controls.
Provide Level 3 Service Desk support, ensuring escalated issues are monitored and resolved in collaboration with internal and external vendors. In this role, you will also manage IT service management systems according to prescribed processes for escalated issues.
Provide support to managers by communicating how data is being used within supported systems, explaining how the business operates on the front line, explaining and assessing impact projects may have on internal controls, JSOX requirements and disaster recovery. Complete requirements gathering, impact assessments and quality assurance efforts as needed. Document test scripts for projects and complete testing when required.
Provide support to change management team by identifying areas requiring attention from the training group. Participate in development of user communications, ensure quality assurance for training materials and provide solution details and process training to the trainers as needed.
Provide support to eXtend team by coordinating to determine delivery timing of objects and ensuring these objects are being delivered on time with expected outcomes. Coordinate, document, execute and supporting testing and certification of new processes and solutions. Reviewing and documenting business ideas and demands for future business prioritization and application enhancements. Documenting and validating reporting requirements and data elements required by the business.
Provide direction to users in terms of capabilities of emerging technologies including BI, Artificial Intelligence, digital transformation and others. Provide after hours support for solution load and application updates.
