Lead Data Engineer – Databricks & AI Location: Remote – Canada Job Type: Contract Experience: 10+ Years Client: Coforge / Vancity About the Role We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Databricks and AI to join our team supporting a leading Canadian financial services client. The ideal candidate will have strong data engineering experience, expertise in Databricks, and experience working on AI-driven data initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of scalable data engineering solutions using Databricks. Build and maintain reliable data pipelines and data processing workflows. Work with large and complex datasets to support business and analytical requirements. Develop data transformation and processing solutions. Collaborate with AI/ML teams on data requirements and AI initiatives. Optimize data pipelines and Databricks workloads for performance and scalability. Ensure data quality, reliability, and consistency. Provide technical leadership and mentor other data engineers. Collaborate with architects, developers, analysts, and business stakeholders. Troubleshoot data engineering issues and provide effective technical solutions. Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering. Strong hands-on experience with Databricks. Experience working with AI / AI-driven data initiatives. Strong data pipeline development experience. Experience designing scalable data engineering solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and technical leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Azure Databricks. Experience in cloud-based data engineering environments. Experience with AI/ML projects. Experience in financial services or banking environments. Experience leading data engineering teams or projects.
